Finally, Eight comfirmed dead as truck falls on bus at Ojuelegba

A truck fell on a commercial bus at Ojuelegba, inwards Fadeyi, Lagos State, on Sunday, claiming eight lives.


The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority officials were seen trying to rescue the victims.


According to the agency, efforts were being made to rescue the victims.


“A container laden truck has fallen on a bus at Ojuelegba, inwards Fadeyi. The effort is currently being made towards rescue and evacuation,” the statement by the Permanent Secretary of the agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu



Recovery of the fallen container is still ongoing, though it has been taken off on top of the minibus but is yet to be completely removed from the location, traffic is still on hold, and we have a backlog of traffic presently at Alaka.


“Kindly exercise patience or find an alternative if you are not trapped in the traffic,” he added

Sad Sunday as Corps Member Who Died In Lagos Train Accident Buried amidst tears  The remains of Oreoluwa Aina, a 28-year-old National Youth Corps Member who was involved in the Lagos train accident which occurred on Thursday, March 9, have been laid to rest. Aina was among the six victims who were confirmed dead after a train crushed a Lagos State Government staff bus at PWD, Ikeja area of the state. The late corps member, who was serving with the Curriculum Services Department of the Lagos State Ministry of Education in Alausa was buried on Saturday at Atan cemetery. A delegation of the state government led by the Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, was present at the burial. Father dies while fighting school bus driver who allegedly defiled daughter

  A 47-year-old man has lost his life for standing up to a school bus driver who allegedly defiled his seven-year-old daughter. The deceased, identified simply as Federick, died on the school premises in a scuffle with the driver, known as Jacob. Frederick had gone to meet the school’s management in the company of his widow and their daughter to narrate their daughter’s experience with Jacob and to ask for immediate action. After he died in the scuffle, Jacob absconded from the scene, leading to a manhunt by the police. The spokesman for the police in Lagos State, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident and said the police were on the trail of the driver and would not relent until he is brought to book.
